PERSONAL PROFILE

Prof. Guixue WANG has long been engaged in basic research and applied transformation in areas such as the biomechanics of atherosclerotic cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, biorheology and vascular tissue repair materials, nanomedicine delivery, and rehabilitation engineering and has been granted more than 60 Chinese and US patents. He was selected as a World's top 2% scientist (Single Year, 5 times, 2021--2025, and Career Long, 2025) in Biomedical Engineering by Elsevier. He is a Fellow of the Chinese Society for Biomaterials (FCSBM) and a Fellow of the International Union of Societies for Biomaterials Science and Engineering (FBSE). He is a recipient of the State Council Special Government Allowance and an academic leader in Chongqing, China. He has received four first prizes, five second and third prizes for provincial and ministerial-level and national industry association science and technology/teaching achievements, and one second prize for the National Science and Technology Progress Award (passed the preliminary review and public announcement, awaiting certificate issuance). He has published over 450 academic papers in Chinese and English in journals such as Nature Neuroscience, ACS Nano, Journal of Biomechanics, Biomaterials, Bioactive Materials, Research, iMeta, The Innovation, Exploration, Advanced Science, Science in China, and Science Bulletin. He has also edited or coedited 11 textbooks and monographs. He has supervised and trained 30 postdoctoral fellows, 60 doctoral students, and 120 master's students.

He has also selected as a Review Expert for the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Outstanding Young Scientists Fund/Excellent Young Scientists Fund/Key Project/General Project/Regional Project/Youth Project/International Cooperation Project; the NSFC Thousand Talents Program; the NDRC National Medical Research and Development Innovation Platform Project; the Ministry of Education Changjiang Scholars Program/Higher Education Institutions Young Scientist Award and Teaching Award; the Ministry of Science and Technology Key Research and Development Program; the Chongqing Municipal Science and Technology Commission/NDRC/Health Commission/Education Commission/Human Resources and Social Security Bureau Science and Technology and Talent Projects; and the Reviewer and nominator for the "Science Exploration Award" project.
